Job Description:

Dahl Companies is a fast-growing, family-owned company. Currently we are looking for a skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team. With appropriate knowledge and training a Customer Service Representative will work with direct supervisor and function as the liaison between Dahl Companies and our customers to deliver the highest level of Customer Service.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Responds in a timely and accurate manner to customer calls, ensuring that their issues and concerns are treated in a respectful and professional manner.
  2. Effectively responds to routine issues regarding general service matters, which may involve outbound calls and other communications to resolve simple issues including billing questions, service inquiries, or cancellations.
  3. Greets all incoming transfer station customers and inspects incoming loads to ensure materials are acceptable, and applicable forms are completed.
  4. Operates scales, collects fees, and/or posts charges to appropriate accounts.
  5. Prepares and maintains a variety of records pertaining to daily operations.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to quickly learn new software, systems, processes, and our products.
  • Ability to process a high volume of transactions with proficiency, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Proficient organizational and time management skills to multi-task and prioritize multiple customers’ demands simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through written and verbal communication.
  • Team player with a can do and positive attitude.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods and move between office and transfer station areas as needed.
  • Ability to perform frequent keyboarding/typing, phone use, and computer work.
  • Ability to communicate with customers in person and by phone, including hearing and speaking clearly.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and walk on uneven surfaces in an active yard/transfer station environment.
  • Ability to work in environments with noise, dust, odors/fumes, and varying temperatures/weather when assisting at the transfer station.

 

Days & Hours of Work

  • Usual Operating Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday – Saturday
  • 40 hours/week; days & hours of scheduled work subject to change
  • Occasional evening meetings and weekend opportunities
  • Overtime eligible
